C9 Rice
A relatively new blend originating from Punjab, regular production of the hybrid C9 long grain in Pakistan started not very long ago. The C9 long grain bears striking similarities with IRRI-9 long grain, partly because it’s a hybrid seed, however the rice kernels are relatively thinner, as opposed to the wider IRRI-6 and IRRI-9. C9 is rapidly gaining popularity in the international rice market while buyers, wholesalers and rice importers are starting to prefer the C9 over its other non-basmati counterparts.
